Pam Holland, EdD, SLP/BCS-S, F-NAP

​

Pamela Holland is a Professor, Chair, and Graduate Program Director for the Department of Communication Disorders at Marshall University. A three-time graduate of Marshall (B.S. 1992, M.S. 1995, Ed.D. 2024), she proudly “bleeds green.” With more than 30 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, Pam has worked across acute care, skilled nursing, home health, early intervention, preschool, and outpatient settings.

​

She became board-certified in swallowing and swallowing disorders in 2019 and teaches graduate courses in early childhood language disorders, adult dysphagia, and pediatric feeding and swallowing. Pam founded the MU Interdisciplinary Feeding and Swallowing Clinic in 2013, where she supervises graduate students and provides family-centered care. She also partners with the community through Healthy Connections, supporting children and families affected by neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome.

Pam is an advocate for interprofessional education and serves as a faculty advisor for the Interprofessional Health Student Organization (IPHSO). In 2023, she was inducted as a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in recognition of her leadership and collaboration. She has presented nationally and regionally and provides continuing education through Therapy Insights and the MedSLP Collective.

 

As the owner of Family First Feeding, LLC, Pam serves families through West Virginia Birth to Three. Alongside colleagues Bryn Brown and Mona Sanders, she co-founded SuperFeeders, LLC to support students, professionals, and families in helping children become confident eaters. When not working, Pam enjoys reading on her back porch, spending time with her husband, JT, their children, Dylan and Lauren, and their Newfoundland, Tiny Bear.

Bryn Brown, M.A., CCC-SLP, COM®

Bryn Brown is a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at Marshall University. She earned both her B.A. (1998) and M.A. (2000) in Communication Disorders from Marshall University. With 25 years of clinical experience, including more than 20 focused on pediatric feeding and swallowing, Bryn brings extensive expertise to her teaching and clinical practice.

​

Most of her career has been spent in medical pediatric outpatient settings and early intervention. She owns Simply Feeding, LLC, providing services through West Virginia Birth to Three. Since joining Marshall in 2019, Bryn has served as a clinical speech pathologist, clinical supervisor, and co-developer of the Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing course.

​

At the Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center, she evaluates and treats pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, orofacial myofunctional disorders, tethered oral tissues, and speech sound disorders. She also co-leads Feeding U, a group therapy and parent education program made possible by the Doctor’s Care Grant. Bryn mentors graduate students and has presented at WVSHA, WVOTA, Celebrating Connections, and the Marshall University School of Medicine Pediatrics Grand Rounds.

She has provided professional education for WV Birth to Three and Talk Tools and co-founded SuperFeeders, LLC with Pam Holland and Mona Sanders to support professionals and families in pediatric feeding and swallowing. Outside of work, Bryn enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, Matt, their grown children, Brayleigh and Brogan, and their dog, Chaco.

Mona Sanders, M.S., CCC-SLP

​

Mona Sanders is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at Marshall University. She earned her M.S. in Communication Disorders in 2013 and has a decade of experience as a speech-language pathologist, serving pediatric and adult populations across outpatient, school, and skilled nursing settings.

​

Her clinical interests include special populations, childhood apraxia of speech, and language disorders. Mona is PROMPT Level 1 trained and certified through the Hanen Centre for parent education in language delays. She holds licensure through the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
 

At Marshall, Mona supervises graduate students and teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. She is passionate about mentoring future clinicians and advancing interprofessional collaboration. Alongside Pam Holland and Bryn Brown, she co-founded SuperFeeders, LLC to empower professionals and families to support healthy feeding and swallowing development in children.

​

Outside of her professional role, Mona enjoys cycling, reading, and spending time with her husband and twins.
